Hentech Enterprise LLC ("Hentech", "we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected across all software products owned or operated by Hentech Enterprise LLC, including Guardian Safety, Guardian for Business, Hentech Agent, Hentech Shield, CookLens AI, and future Hentech applications and services.
Information We Collect
Depending on the product being used, we may collect limited information voluntarily provided by users, including:
- Account or system identifiers (user ID or device identifiers)
- Contact information for safety alerts and support
- Application status data required for functionality
- Notification tokens used to deliver alerts
- User configuration and preference settings
- Company or institution codes used to link employees or students to an organizational dashboard
- Birth year, where provided, for age-appropriate experience configuration
- AI assistant queries and administrator-taught notes, for organizations using dashboard AI features
We do not collect personal information beyond what is reasonably necessary to provide the requested service.
Location Data
Certain products, such as Guardian Safety, may access location information only during user-initiated safety events or emergency escalation scenarios.
Location data is never continuously tracked and is never accessed when the product is inactive. Location access is controlled entirely by user device permissions.
Guardian for Business Employer & Employee Privacy
When an employee or student joins an organizational dashboard using a company or institution code, the following privacy rules apply:
- On-shift visibility: During active shift hours, authorized dashboard administrators may see an employee's check-in status, welfare check responses, and last known location during escalation events.
- Off-shift privacy: When an employee's scheduled shift ends, all employer visibility is removed. Location, status, and check-in data are not visible to the organization outside of active shift windows.
- Escalation location: GPS coordinates are only surfaced to the employer dashboard when a safety escalation is triggered and the employee has not responded to check-ins or welfare checks.
- Audit trail: Check-in logs, welfare check records, and escalation history are retained for compliance purposes and are accessible only to authorized administrators of the relevant organization.
- Personal features: An employee's personal AI Companion, personal emergency contacts, distress phrase, and personal safety settings are never visible to the employer dashboard under any circumstances.
Employees and students may remove themselves from an organizational dashboard at any time by disconnecting their company or institution code within the app.
Campus & Institution Mode
Users who verify a campus or institution email address may be linked to a campus safety dashboard operated by their institution's authorized safety administrators.
Campus administrators may view the safety status and, during escalation events, the last known location of verified students who have Guardian active. This visibility is limited to safety events only. Students who are off-campus or have Guardian inactive are not visible on the campus dashboard.
Notifications, SMS & Messaging
Some Hentech products use push notifications and SMS text messaging to deliver safety alerts, missed check-in notifications, welfare checks, and emergency escalation messages.
By enabling these features and providing explicit consent during setup, users agree to receive SMS messages strictly related to safety monitoring and emergency escalation. Message frequency varies based on user activity. Message and data rates may apply. Users and emergency contacts may opt out at any time by replying STOP or request assistance by replying HELP.
Hentech does not send marketing or promotional SMS messages.
Minor Users
Guardian Safety includes a minor mode for users under the age of 16. When a user's birth year indicates they are a minor, certain features are restricted and age-appropriate defaults are applied. Birth year data is stored locally on the user's device and is used solely to determine the appropriate experience configuration. It is not shared with employers, institutions, or third parties.
Intelligent Companion Feature
Some Hentech products include an Intelligent Companion feature designed to support user interaction. The Intelligent Companion is software-based automation. It does not represent a real person, emergency responder, medical professional, or law enforcement authority. It does not initiate emergency actions independently of Guardian's safety logic.
Companion conversation history is associated with the user's account and is used to personalize responses. Companion data is never shared with employers or institutions. Conversations are processed by third-party AI infrastructure providers under data-processing terms solely to generate responses, and are not used to train those providers' models.
Dashboard AI Assistants
Guardian for Business and campus safety dashboards include an AI assistant that authorized administrators can use to look up safety information and prepare safety actions. Assistant queries, responses, and administrator-taught notes are stored with the organization's account and are processed by third-party AI providers under data-processing terms strictly to generate responses. This data is not used to train AI models.
The assistant operates under the same privacy rules as the dashboard itself: it cannot access off-shift employee status, cannot reveal the location of anyone who is not in an active safety event, and cannot perform safety actions without explicit administrator confirmation. Organizations may reset their assistant at any time, which permanently deletes its name, taught notes, and conversation transcripts.
Background Activity
Hentech applications do not perform background audio recording, continuous monitoring, or hidden processes. Background activity is limited strictly to what is necessary for the product's functionality and only when explicitly enabled.
Camera & Voice Data (CookLens AI)
CookLens AI accesses your device camera only when you initiate a scan. Images are processed to identify ingredients or analyze meal nutrition and are not stored on our servers or shared with third parties. The microphone is accessed only during an active Chef Henry voice session. Voice input is processed in real time and is not recorded or retained after the session ends. Scan history and nutrition data are stored locally on your device only.
Data Protection
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect user data, including secure infrastructure and access controls. Users may request access, correction, or deletion of their personal data by contacting support.
Third-Party Services
Some products integrate with third-party services (such as SMS delivery, voice callback, mapping, authentication, or AI processing providers) strictly to deliver core functionality. These integrations are used in compliance with applicable privacy regulations.
